As part of Buffalo State’s Great Performer Series presented by M&T Bank, Grammy-winning guitar virtuoso Earl Klugh will perform on Thursday, March 13, at 8:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall.

As a composer and recording artist, Klugh is counted among the lynchpin figures of new contemporary jazz, and credited for the extension of his instrument’s artistic scope. During his long career, Klugh has recorded more than 30 albums including 24 Top 10-charting records. He has recorded duets with country music legend Vince Gill, contemporary jazz guitarist Bill Frisell, and ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro.

His most recent project and Concord Records debut, HandPicked, a solo guitar album featuring a handful of collaborative string duets, was released last summer.

Appearing in the performance with Klugh will be saxophonist Tom Braxton, keyboardist David Lee Spradley, bass player Al Turner, and drummer Ron Otis.

Tickets are $40 for the lower tier; $35 for the upper tier; $32 for Buffalo State faculty and staff and for seniors; and $15 for students one hour prior to the concert, and are available online or by calling (716) 878-3005.
