Hospitality Ambassador Awards: April 20

Join faculty, staff, and students from the Hospitality and Tourism Department as they honor community leaders and present scholarships to students at the annual Ambassador Awards, Wednesday, April 20, at 5:30 p.m. in the Burchfield Penney Art Center auditorium.

This year, the keynote speaker is Chris Vogelsang, grandson of Buffalo State College's first president Harry Rockwell. Community leaders being honored are James Bedard III, president, Buffalo Hotel Supply Corporation; Dr. Frances Tyau, associate professor emeritus, Buffalo State College; and Bob Syracuse, president, Pizza Plant.

Nine students will also be recognized for their outstanding achievements in the field and in the classroom, including Leigh Bohlen, Pano’s Scholarship; Craig Habermehl, Hospitality and Tourism Department Scholarship; Mary Henseler, Pano’s Scholarship; Tiffany Kliss, Pano’s Scholarship; Sherri Lojacono, Pano’s Scholarship; Ashley Ray, Pano’s Scholarship; Melissa Reinagel, Pano’s Scholarship; Calla Rudolph, Hart Hotels Scholarship; and Michael White, Hospitality and Tourism Department Scholarship.

Guests will enjoy a wine dinner reception at the Campus House Club immediately following the awards ceremony. Hand-passed hors d'oeuvres and food stations will showcase culinary talents and service skills of Buffalo State hospitality students. Senior students Aya Kuramoto and Tabitha Carr will demonstrate their skills at a live sushi station.
