'I Am College Bound' Gives Students a Head Start

College attendance doesn’t begin with the first day of freshman classes. It begins much earlier, when youngsters first begin to think, “Maybe I’ll go to college someday.”

To encourage Buffalo Public School students to plan on attending college, the Center for Excellence in Urban and Rural Education at Buffalo State hosts “I Am College Bound.” 

Two groups of students were on campus this week: seventh- and eighth-grade students from Martin Luther King Multicultural Institute visited on Tuesday, March 31, while sixth-graders from Buffalo's International School toured campus on Wednesday, April 1.

The middle schoolers took part in science activities with Buffalo State professors and students; toured the Technology Building, Sports Complex, Neumann Hall, and Rockwell Hall with student ambassadors; and enjoyed lunch in Campbell Student Union with student club representatives.
