Indoor Track and Field Competes at CWRU Invitational
CLEVELAND--Buffalo State's indoor track and field teams competed at the Case Western Reserve University Invitational today. The men placed fifth of six teams, and the women were eighth of nine.
Joe Wooley (Amherst/Sweet Home) and Eric Bream (Lockport/Lockport) highlighted the men's competition for the Bengals. Wooley won the long jump with a leap of 6.48 meters (21'3"), and Bream took first in the 400-meter dash in 52.06. Joe Russell (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) also turned in a strong showing, placing fifth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.35.
On the women's side, Sarah Gedraitis (Lockport/Akron) broke her own school record and finished second in the 20-lb. weight throw, measuring 11.60 meters (38'3/4"). Camarra Winfrey (Buffalo/City Honors) also placed second in the 55-meter dash in 7.54.
Buffalo State will compete at the Akron Invitational next Saturday.
