Buffalo State's Industrial Technology program has earned reaccreditation from the National Association of Industrial Technology. The reaccreditation status is valid until November 2005.

Students in the program, which leads to a baccalaureate degree, can choose between manufacturing and quality specialty options. The manufacturing specialty option trains students in the application of direct manufacturing support of a technical or managerial nature. In addition, students learn management principles, physical sciences, technology of industry and liberal arts to optimize manufacturing processes, materials and personnel.

The quality option prepares students to apply various continuous improvement principles and techniques in both manufacturing and service industries. The course work includes a required professional internship in a local firm as a culminating activity.

The National Association of Industrial Technology is recognized as the premiere professional association responsible for: the promotion of industrial technology in business, industry, education and government; the accreditation of industrial technology programs in colleges, universities and technical institutes; and the certification of industrial technologists and the recognition of their continued professional development.
