Internationally Recognized Artist to Speak on Campus

Emile Desmedt, an internationally recognized sculptor in clay, metal, and glass, is presenting two campus talks— “My Life in the Arts: I Need the Unknown” on Thursday, October 16, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Upton Hall 230, and “An International Artist’s Perspective” on Saturday, October 18, at 8:00 p.m. in the Burchfield Penney Art Center's Elizabeth C. Tower Auditorium.

Both are free and open to the public.

Desmedt, a professor at the Academy of Fine and Decorative Arts in Tournai, Wallonia, Belgium, has received numerous accolades and participated in workshops throughout the world.

His visit is sponsored by the Buffalo-Lille Association Inc. and the Margaret E. Bacon Visiting Artists Fund.
