On Thursday, October 5, at 12:15 p.m., journalists and other staff from Buffalo’s WGRZ-TV will share their experience covering the damaging hurricanes that recently hit Texas and Florida.
“Reporting on Hurricanes Harvey and Irma: Buffalo Broadcasters in Texas and Florida” will feature reporters Michael Wooten, Jeff Preval, and Danny Spewak and photojournalist Ben Read, along with director Sarah Zamer and audio engineer Ed Silverman. This event will be held in Bulger Communication Center East.
During the hurricane, the group was based in Dallas at WFAA-TV, where the broadcasts for KHOU-TV Houston have been controlled since Hurricane Harvey.
The panel discussion, presented by Buffalo State’s Communication Department, is free and open to the campus as well as the local community. For details, contact Deborah Silverman or Joe Kasko.
