WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4

Inaugural Campus Community Circle
6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Student Union Plaza
The Student Conduct and Community Standards Office, in collaboration with United Students Government and the Residence Life Office, will host a Campus Community Circle to celebrate the opening of the Restorative Justice Center (Porter Hall 15). All students are invited to participate in the discussion “Exploring the Dimensions of Our Identity,” which will include a conversation about talking circles, a core component of the restorative justice process. A talking circle, sometimes called a peacemaking circle, uses a structural framework to build relationships and to address conflict within a community.

Beyond Boundaries Presents ‘Roll Red Roll’
7:00 p.m.
Burchfield Penney Art Center’s Tower Auditorium
This true crime documentary follows the 2012 Steubenville, Ohio, rape case, putting social media and high school football culture in the spotlight. The first film in the Beyond Boundaries: Dare to Be Diverse screening and discussion series for fall 2019, this event is sponsored by the Equity and Campus Diversity Office, the Communication Department, and the Burchfield Penney Art Center.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 5

Moot Court Team Organizational Meeting
12:15 to 1:15 p.m.

Bulger Communication Center 214
All are welcome to join Buffalo State's Intercollegiate Moot Court Team. This is our first organizational meeting of the year. Moot Court is an appellate argument competition that pits teams from universities across the country on a hypothetical legal controversy. This year's case involves issues surrounding the Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable searches with the search of cellphone records without a warrant and the Sixth Amendment right to confront an accuser with the exclusion due to hearsay. Please direct questions to Peter Yacobucci, associate professor of political science.

Drum Circle
12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Perry Quad
Join the Weigel Wellness Center in a drumming circle this summer and fall. This is a fun, relaxing entry-level music-making and learning experience. Drums will be provided. Any last-minute cancellations or changes will be announced on our Facebook page.

Chemistry-Physics 2019 Seminar Series: 'From Murals to Minds: Finding the Spark within a Scientific Career'

Please join the Chemistry and Physics departments for the seminar "From Murals to Minds: Finding the Spark within a Scientific Career," presented by alumna Jamie A. Abbott, B.A., B.S. '08, postdoctoral fellow in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.

Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention
8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Canalside - 44 Prime St., Buffalo, N.Y. 14202
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to walk with us for the annual "Out of the Darkness Community Walk for Suicide Prevention." Join the Buffalo State Cares UPstanders team. Registration begins at Canalside at 8:30 a.m., and the walk kicks off at 10:30 a.m.
