Beyond Boundaries: Swim Team
Burchfield Penney Art Center at Buffalo State
Beyond Boundaries: Dare to Be Diverse Screening and Discussion Series presents Swim Team (2016), a documentary directed by Lara Stolman. Swim Team chronicles the extraordinary rise of the Jersey Hammerheads, a competitive swim team, recruiting diverse teens on the spectrum and training them with high expectations and zero pity. The documentary captures a moving quest for inclusion, independence, and a life that feels winning.

There will be a panel discussion after the screening. Beyond Boundaries screenings are free and open to the public and are sponsored by Buffalo State’s Equity and Campus Diversity Office, Communication Department, and Burchfield Penney Art Center.
