Casting Hall Productions opens its 2019–2020 theater season on Tuesday with a sold-out preview performance of Intimate Apparel, a captivating tale of class, conflict, and human connection. Performances run throughout the week. And Kyle Bradstreet, ’02, ’04, executive producer of the widely acclaimed Mr. Robot and the college's 2016 Commencement speaker, returns to campus this week to discuss his work. ‘Untangling the Evolutionary Dynamics of Complex Traits’

Join the Biology Department and the Great Lakes Center for this seminar by Sara Miller, Ph.D., NSF postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at Cornell University, who will discuss her research using threespine stickleback fish and northern paper wasps to study the mechanisms by which complex traits evolve and spread. All students, staff, and faculty are welcome.

Information Session: Buffalo State Facilities Master Plan

The campus community is invited to learn more about Buffalo State’s facilities master plan. Interim Provost James Mayrose will provide an overview and update of the college’s strategic plan, goals, and new academic initiatives. Vice President for Finance and Management Laura Barnum will follow with a presentation of the college’s updated facilities master plan, which includes a number of new projects in the conceptual and design phases. VP Barnum will also share information about recent studies regarding space and classroom use and student-housing demand. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Donald Savage Building Flexible Theatre
Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and directed by lecturer of theater Lara Haberberger, Intimate Apparel tells the story of an African American seamstress in 1905 Manhattan who makes exquisite undergarments for high-end clients and embarks on an unlikely romance. 'Analytics on Existing Health Data: Making an Impact'

Rachel Hoopsick, NRSA postdoctoral fellow in the University at Buffalo's Department of Family Medicine, will discuss the analysis of data used to prevent suicide and overdoses, the “story” behind it, and the overall importance of aligning data with practical issues.
Talk by Kyle Bradstreet: 'Writing and Producing for Television'

Alumnus Kyle Bradstreet, ’02, ’04, will discuss his work as a writer and executive producer on USA Network’s Mr. Robot, which begins its final season this fall. His other credits include the popular BBC-America television series Copper and the screenplays Borgia: Faith and Fear (Canal+), Manhunt (HBO), and The Philanthropist (NBC). Bradstreet earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in theater and a master’s degree in multidisciplinary studies from Buffalo State. His talk is sponsored by the School of Arts and Humanities and Buffalo State’s Alumni Association. Free and open to the public.
