Masters and Williams Break Buffalo State Track and Field Records
Aaron Masters (Grand Island) and Linda Williams (Edison Tech) set Buffalo State school records in the first indoor track and field meet of the season on Saturday at the St. Lawrence Invitational.
Masters, a junior, set a new mark while capturing first place in the pole vault competition, clearing a height of 4.28 meters (14' 1/2"). The previous school best was 4.27 meters, set by Steve Adams in 1984. The leap also set a new St. Lawrence Field House record.
Williams was impressive in her collegiate debut, as she earned the school record in the 55m dash with a time of 7.55. The previous best was 7.64 by Tracy Watts in 1990.
