Men's basketball player Willie Sanders (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) was named Buffalo State's Athlete of the Week.



The sophomore guard was named the MVP of the Buffalo State Holiday Inn Invitational as he led the Bengals to the tournament title with wins over D'Youville and Hilbert. Sanders scored a career-high 18 points in a 79-66 win over D'Youville on Friday, and added eight points in a 75-54 win in the championship game against Hilbert on Saturday.
