Men's Basketball Runs Past Oneonta, 88-72
ONEONTA, NY—James Williams (Brooklyn/William Grady) scored 33 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Buffalo State (4-1/2-0) cruised past host Oneonta (2-4/0-2), 88-72, tonight in a SUNYAC contest at Dewar Arena.
Buffalo State jumped out to a 48-32 halftime lead and never let the Red Dragons back in the game in the second half. The Bengals forced Oneonta to make mistakes with their pressure defense, and Buffalo State tallied 31 points off of 21 Red Dragon turnovers.
Williams was 12 of 18 from the floor and 9 of 12 at the charity stripe. Dion Mozelle (Rego Park/Xaverian) added 14 points and three steals for the Bengals. Jay Wingate (Henrietta/Rush-Henrietta) chipped in nine points.
Jason Murphy led Oneonta with 21 points and eight boards.
Buffalo State will play another SUNYAC game tomorrow at SUNYIT at 4 p.m.
