Men’s Basketball Shoots Blanks at Merchant Marine Academy
KING’S POINT, NY—Buffalo State (3-3) scored a season-worst 56 points in a 67-56 loss at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (2-7) in a non-conference game tonight at the James Liebertz Gymnasium.
Dion Mozelle (Rego Park/Xaverian) led Buffalo State with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Antonio Samedi (St. Albans/Queens Vocational) added 13 points and eight rebounds.
The Bengals jumped out to an 8-1 lead, but the advantage dissolved quickly and the Bengals never got back in front. The Mariners led 35-26 at the intermission and by as many as 18 in the second half. Buffalo State’s previous low scoring output this season was 73 in a loss to Cortland last month.
Buffalo State will visit Manhattan tomorrow afternoon for a contest at New York University at 4 p.m.
