Men's Basketball Wins 18th SUNYAC Championship

Buffalo State (21-6) defeated Brockport (15-13) in a 67-50 win at Saturday's SUNYAC Championship game in Oswego's Max Ziel Gymnasium. The championship is a conference-best 18th for the Bengals. It was the first league title for Buffalo State since 2003.

The win earned the Bengals an automatic berth in NCAA Tournament and pushed the team's winning streak to 11 games.

Five Bengals scored in double-figures, led by senior Glenroy Carr (New York/Sweet Home) who posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Justin Mitchell (Buffalo/Timon) added 12 points and 12 boards. Chris Cartwright (Binghamton/Binghamton) also netted 12 point, Jake Simmons (Rochester/School for the Arts) had 11 points and four steals, and Norman Simmons (Rochester/East) scored 10 points.

Jon Ivy led Brockport with 16 points, and Gerald Williams chipped in 11.
