Men's Hockey Blasts Potsdam, 5-1
POTSDAM, NY—Tyler Soehner (Baden, ON) and Nick Lynch (Depew, NY) each had two goals and an assist to pace Buffalo State (10-9-3/5-5-3) to a 5-1 win over host Potsdam (7-11-4/4-6-3) in a SUNYAC game tonight at Maxcy Hall Arena.
Lynch opened the scoring 2:41 into the game, before the Bears evened the score midway through the first period. Soehner put the Bengals ahead for good with just seven seconds remaining in the opening frame. Soehner and Lynch each lit the lamp in the second period again, as did Travis Whitehead (Cambridge, ON) to put the game out of reach. Johnny Duco (Toronto, ON) added three assists, and Jason Hill (Niagara Falls, NY) had a pair of helpers.
Potsdam outshot Buffalo State, 38-32. Kyle Gunn-Taylor (W. Seneca, NY) made 37 saves in the win.
Buffalo State will host Oswego next Friday at 7 p.m.
