BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (10-10-4/5-6-4) clinched a playoff spot for the second-straight season with a 3-3 tie against visiting Cortland (11-10-3/6-7-2), in a SUNYAC game tonight at Ice Arena.

Cortland opened the scoring in the first period, but the Bengals outscored the Red Dragons, 3-1, in the second period to take the lead. Cortland netted the only marker in the third frame, however, to force the tie. Terry Watt (Whitby, ON) and Joel Sheppard (Pefferlaw, ON) each had a goal and an assist for the Bengals. D’Arcy Thomas (Gatineau, PQ) also scored, and Shareef Labreche (Markham, ON) had a pair of assists.

The shots were even at 29-29, as Kyle Gunn-Taylor (W.
Seneca, NY) made 26 saves for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will close out the regular season next Friday at home against Fredonia.
