Men's Hockey Defeats Morrisville, 4-1
BUFFALO, NY--D’Arcy Thomas (Gatineau, PQ/Philemon Wright) scored two goals as Buffalo State (8-8-2) skated to a 4-1 victory over visiting Morrisville (5-10) in a non-conference game tonight at the Ice Arena.
Junior Johnny Duco (Toronto, ON/Cardinal Newman) and freshman Shareef Labreche (Markham, ON/Markham) each added a goal and an assist, while six other Bengals also registered assists.
The Bengals got on the board early, scoring just three minutes into the first period and added a power-play goal late in the stanza to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Evan Kernohan (Minden, ON) scored for the Mustangs in the second to bring them within one, but Buffalo State responded with two more even-strength goals to seal the win.
Buffalo State outshot Morrisville, 41-15.
The Bengals return to conference play on Friday when they travel to the North Country to take on Potsdam at 7 p.m.
