Buffalo State scored three power-play goals in a 5-4 loss to Neumann this evening at the Buffalo State Ice Arena.

Neumann opened the scoring early in the first period on a power-play goal, but sophomore Mike DeMarco (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) answered back for Buffalo State by netting two power-play goals. Junior Sean Burke (Barrie, ON/ St. Peter’s) and sophomore Sean O’Connell (Buffalo/St. Francis) each assisted in both goals. In the second period, Neumann netted three unanswered goals before adding one final marker in the opening minutes of the third period.

The Bengals dominated the third period, out shooting the Knights 22-7. Junior Greg Prybylski (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga) scored a power-play goal, assisted by DeMarco and O’Connell. Senior Morgan McElman (Bayside, NB/Berkshire Prep) would find the back of the net for the last time for Buffalo State off a pass from Josh Magnuson (Chisago, MN/Chisago Lakes). It wouldn’t prove to be enough as the Bengals fell short in adding a tying goal in the closing minutes of the game. The Bengals out shot Neumann 43-25.

Buffalo State falls to 4-11-1 and will face Neumann tomorrow at the Buffalo State Ice Arena at 7 p.m.
