Buffalo State led twice, but Plattsburgh proved too strong as the Cardinals claimed a 5-3 victory on home ice tonight.

The Bengals took an early lead as Sean Burke (Barrie, ON/St. Peter's) scored against his former mates just 1:26 into the game. After Plattsburgh evened the score late in the first, Sean O'Connell (Buffalo/St. Francis) reestablished the Bengals lead early in the second frame. The Cards would add three goals in the second period, however, to take a 4-2 lead into the final stanza. Matt Samson (W. Vancouver, BC/W. Vancouver) tallied for Buffalo State midway through the third, but Plattsburgh would put it away just over a minute later.

Sean Sheehan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) made 55 saves in goal for Buffalo State. Plattsburgh outshot the Bengals 60-13.

Buffalo State fell to 2-5-1 overall and 1-2-1 in SUNYAC. The Bengals will host Fredonia on Wednesday.
