Men's Hockey Pounds Potsdam in Home Finale, 6-2

BUFFALO, NY--Sean Burke (Barrie, ON/St. Peter's) scored twice and set the Buffalo State record for goals in a season, as he led the Bengals (11-12-1/8-6) to a 6-2 victory over visiting Potsdam (7-13-4/6-7-1) tonight at the Ice Arena in the final regular season game for both teams.

Buffalo State scored twice in all three periods en route to the victory. Potsdam scored once in the first and once in the third.

Burke's two goals brought his record season total to 24. Greg Prybylski (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga) and Mike DeMarco (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) each had a goal and an assist. Sean O'Connell (Buffalo/St. Francis) and Jeff Mok (Richmond Hill, ON/Richmond Hill) also scored for Buffalo State.

Potsdam outshot Buffalo State 40-33, but Sean Sheehan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) made 38 saves for the Bengals.

With the victory, Buffalo State clinched the fifth seed in the SUNYAC. The Bengals will make their second-ever conference playoff appearance next Friday and Saturday at No. 4 Plattsburgh.
