Men’s Hockey Rallies By Johnson & Wales’ Wins Sixth Straight

NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI—Buffalo State (8-8-2) overcame a 2-0 deficit and completed the two-game sweep over host Johnson & Wales (4-11) with a 4-2 win in a non-conference game tonight at the Rhode Island Sports Center. The Bengals pushed their winning streak to six games.

Nick Petriello (St. Catharines, ON) led Buffalo State with a goal and an assist. Travis Whitehead (Cambridge, ON) and Tyler Soehner (Baden, ON) also scored power-play goals, and Cody Cole (St. Catharines, ON) added an empty-net tally.

Buffalo State outshot the Wildcats, 44-23. Kyle Gunn-Taylor (W. Seneca, NY) made 21 saves in the win.

Buffalo State will not play again until Jan. 25 when it is slated to host Geneseo in a SUNYAC game at 7 p.m.
