Men's Hockey Skates Past Neumann, 5-4

Buffalo State improved to 5-12-0 overall today after a 5-4 non-conference road win against Neumann College.

The Bengals found themselves down 3-2 after the first period, with goals coming from a pair of freshman in rookies Mike DeMarco (Niagara Falls) and Sean O'Connell (Buffalo, NY). Sophomore Sean Castagna (San Jose, CA) and junior Josh Magnuson (Chisago, MN) each added second period goals to send the game tied at 4-4 going into the final frame. O'Connell blasted home the game-winner on a powerplay goal with 1:01 left on the scoreboard.

Freshman goaltender Sean Sheehan (Mt. Laurel, NJ) improved his record to 3-1 with his 23 save performance against the Knights. DeMarco finished the evening with a four-point performance, including a goal and three assists. Forward Morgan McElman (Bayside, NB) and defensemen Matt Stankevich (Spokane, WA) each added two assists to their season totals.

Buffalo State will be back on the ice Tuesday, January 27 for a 7:00 pm game at Hobart.
