Brockport's Chris Brown's second goal of the game with just 2:50 remaining earned the Golden Eagles (3-1-1/0-0-1) a 4-4 tie at Buffalo State, despite two goals and two assists by the Bengals' Mike DeMarco in the SUNYAC opener for both teams.
The Bengals took the lead 5:04 into the game on DeMarco's first of the game, but Brockport pulled even just over two minutes later on a goal by Ian MacLean. The Bengals grabbed a 3-1 lead in the second stanza with a pair of goals by Sean Burke. Brockport knotted the score again, however, with goals by Brown and Richard Gates in a 29-second span midway through the period. The Bengals claimed the lead once more 11:51 into the third period with DeMarco's second, but Brown's late goal ended the game in a deadlock.
Buffalo State's Sean Sheehan made 31 saves, and Brockport Greg Van't Hof recorded 30 stops. Greg Prybylski added a pair of assists for the Bengals.
Buffalo State is 1-3-1 overall and 0-0-1 in SUNYAC play. The Bengals will host Geneseo tomorrow at 7 p.m.
