Men's Hockey Ties Johnson & Wales, 4-4

BUFFALO, NY--Buffalo State (6-8-2) tied Johnson & Wales, 4-4, in a non-conference game tonight at the Ice Arena.

D’Arcy Thomas (Gatineau, PQ/Philemon Wright), Justin Merritt (Burlington, ON/Blessed Trinity), Paul Gagnon (Troy, MI/Troy Athens) and Ryan Ramage (Ft. Erie, ON/Fort Erie) all scored for the Bengals, while Michael DeMarco (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) recorded two assists. Jason Hill (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls), Mike Luzarraga (Sugarland, TX/Clements) and Shareef Labreche (Markham, ON/Markham) each added an assist.

The Bengals trailed 3-2 after two periods of play and gave up their fourth goal of the game at the 6:45 mark of the third stanza. Buffalo State was able to mount a comeback but couldn't get the game winner in overtime.

Sean Sheehan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) stopped 20 shots, as Buffalo State outshot Johnson & Wales, 50-24.

The two teams will meet again tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Ice Arena.
