Men’s Hockey Ties Potsdam, 2-2
BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (2-4-2/1-1-2) outshot Potsdam (2-3-2/1-2-2), 44-26, but Rick Miller (Ft. Erie, ON) made 42 for the Bears in a 2-2 tie in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena.
The teams traded goals early in the second period with Buffalo State striking first just 32 seconds into the frame on a goal by Joe Curry (Indian River, ON) with assists from Nick Lynch (Depew, NY) and Jason Hill (Niagara Falls, NY). Potsdam answered with a power-play goal by Luke Beck (Charlottetown, PEI) from Connor Treacy (Markham, ON) at the 2:52 mark.
Potsdam struck first in the third period, just 27 seconds in, when Peter Vaisanen (Stouffville, ON) scored with an assist from Beck. Buffalo State netted the equalizer on the power play at 9:31, by Hill with assists from Jeff Mok (Richmond Hill, ON) and Tyler Soehner (Baden, ON).
Kyle Gunn-Taylor (W. Seneca, NY) made 24 saves for the Bengals.
Buffalo State will next host No. 8-ranked Elmira on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a non-conference game.
