Men’s Hockey Wins Record Seventh Straight, Downs Geneseo, 5-3
BUFFALO, NY—Joe Curry (Indian River, ON) and Kerry Barchan (Oakville, ON) each scored twice as Buffalo State (9-8-2/4-4-2) set a school record with its seventh-consecutive win, defeating visiting Geneseo (5-13/4-6), 5-3, in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena.
Barchan opened the scoring on a breakaway just 23 seconds into the game. Geneseo evened the score midway through the period, but the Bengals then ripped off four-straight goals, including three in the second period. The Knights added a pair of goals late in the third, but could not complete the comeback.
Barchan also added an assist for a three-point night, and Connor King (Brentwood, TN) scored the other goal for the Bengals. Nick Petriello (St. Catharines, ON) added a pair of assists.
Buffalo State outshot the Knights, 29-20. Kyle Gunn-Taylor (W. Seneca, NY) made 17 saves for the win.
Buffalo State will host Brockport tomorrow at 7 p.m.
