Men’s Soccer Earns Tie at Geneseo, 1-1

GENESEO, NY—Aaron Gollegly (Boston/ Kenmore West) scored in the 68th minute to even the score and Buffalo State (8-6-3/5-4-2) held on for a 1-1 tie at Geneseo (8-6-2/5-4-2) in the SUNYAC regular-season finale today.

Geneseo opened the scoring in the 26th minute, but Gollegly evened the score in the second half with an assist from Christian Elizondo (Marlboro/ Marlboro).

Geneseo outshot the Bengals, 31-18, but Dan Corti (Amawalk/ Somers) made 11 saves in goal.

Buffalo State won the penalty kick tie-breaker, 4-2, to clinch the fifth seed in the SUNYAC standings. The Bengals will open the conference playoffs at No. 4 Cortland on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
