Men’s Soccer Ties RIT, 1-1

The Buffalo State men’s soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie today at RIT. The Bengals now sit at 1-5-2 overall.

Buffalo State got on the board first in the 38th minute when freshman midfielder Matt Ketchum (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) scored his first goal as a Bengal. The Tigers stormed back to tie the game with nine minutes left in regulation. Neither team would tally another goal despite playing two 10-minute sudden-victory overtime periods.

Bengal goaltender Shawn McDonnell (West Seneca/West Seneca East) had a solid game in net recording 11 saves in the tie. Buffalo State was outshot 28-5 in the contest.

The Bengals next match will be a 1:00 p.m. non-conference home game against Elmira on Saturday at Coyer Field.
