Buffalo State (6-2-1) never trailed RIT, but was unable to hold on to victory, as the Bengals returned from Rochester with a 2-2 tie today after a pair of overtime periods.

The Bengals opened the scoring in the 12th minute on a goal by Christian Elizondo (Marlboro/Marlboro), the first of his career, assisted by Joshua Mitchell (Schenectady/South Colonie). After RIT evened the score at 1-1 in the 29th minute, Buffalo State regained the lead just 47 seconds later on a goal by Casey Cushing (Fabius/Fabius Pompey) with an assist from Amadu Barrie (New York/MLK). The Tigers knotted the score again with a goal late in regulation to complete the scoring.

RIT held a 27-15 advantage in shots, despite Buffalo State outshooting the Tigers 9-6 in the opening half. RIT also held a 13-3 edge in corner kicks. Shawn McDonell (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) made 11 saves in goal for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will return to SUNYAC play this weekend with road contests at Oswego and Cortland on Friday and Saturday respectively.
