Men's Soccer Tops Oswego; Remains Unbeaten

Buffalo State overcame a two goal deficit in the opening minutes of the game to remain undefeated with a 4-2 victory over SUNYAC-rival Oswego today at Coyer Field.

Oswego's Shawn Bullard (Baldwinsville/CW Baker) opened the scoring just 4:13 into the game. Oswego's goalkeeper John Spuhler (Fulton/G. Ray Bodley) put the Lakers up by 2-0 at the 8:28 mark as his punt went the length of the field and bounced off a Bengal defender into the goal. Buffalo State got its first goal at 19:27 on a header by Randy Haight (Roseville, CA/Woodcreek) from Christian Elizondo (Marlboro/Marlboro). Buffalo State poured on the pressure in the second half, getting goals from Prisco Houndanon (Benin, West Africa), Kevin Brenner (Plattsburgh/Plattsburgh) and Richard Namulala (Kenmore/Kenmore West) to cruise to the victory. The Bengals out shot Oswego 22-6.

Buffalo State improved to 9-0-2 overall and 3-0 in SUNYAC play. The Bengals will host Cortland tomorrow at 1 p.m.
