Men's Soccer Wins Fifth Straight; Defeats Oswego, 3-1
BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (8-4-1/5-2) extended its winning streak to five games with a 3-1 victory over visiting Oswego (6-7-1/3-4) in SUNYAC action today at Coyer Field. Tony Schiappa (Williamsville/ Williamsville East) led the Bengals with two assists.
Zackary Eastman (Perrysburg/ Lakeshore) opened the scoring for Buffalo State, collecting a rebound off a header from Aaron Gollegly (Boston/ Kenmore West) in front of the Oswego net just three minutes into the first half. Craig Nazare (Oakville, ON/Thomas Aquinas) evened the game for the Lakers in the 12th minute off a cross from Chris Carra (Endwell/Maine-Endwell). Buffalo State regained the lead at the 21:19 mark on a goal by Justin Lofaro (Albany/Guilderland), assisted by Schiappa. Joatan Humphries (Lawrence/Lawrence) added an insurance goal for the Bengals in the second half.
Dan Corti (Amawalk/Somers) made four saves for the Bengals. Nick Liberati (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) also finished with four saves for Oswego.
Buffalo State will travel to the North Country to play Potsdam on Friday at 4 p.m.
