Two Buffalo State women's soccer players made school history today during an 8-0 win over D'Youville. Gina Monaco (Niagara Falls) set the Bengals' single season record for goals and points, while Amy Drozen (Williamsville) became the school's single season and all-time assists leader.

Monaco, a freshman forward, has been dominant for the Bengals all season. Her three goals today brought her season total to 16 in just 15 games. The previous record was 13 by Valerie Krell, set in 1983. Monaco also passed Krell for the school standard for points in a season with 35, topping the previous high of 31.

Drozen, a junior forward, tallied a goal and an assist in the win. She now has 10 assists this season, surpassing the previous record of nine by Jacinta Ferary in 1984. She also holds the Bengals' record for assists in a career with 21, topping Brendan Slachiak's mark of 20 from 1984 through 1987. Drozen currently sits eighth on Buffalo State's all-time scoring list with 43 points.

Buffalo State is currently 5-10 on the season and has four games remaining. The Bengals will travel to Oswego and Cortland this weekend, before visiting Fredonia next Wednesday and Pitt-Bradford next Saturday.
