Lori V. Quigley has been named Associate Dean for the School of Education at Buffalo State College. Dr. Quigley is a member of the Seneca Nation, wolf clan. With a Ph.D. in Language, Learning and Literacy, coupled with 15 years of elementary and secondary classroom experience, she has taught clinical reading courses to graduate students working towards their literacy specialist certification at Buffalo State. She also works with the recruitment and retention of Native American students, serving as the Buffalo State liaison to the S.U.N.Y. Native American Consortium.

Dr. Quigley has been afforded the opportunity to extend her expertise and talents to help her native community revitalize and maintain their indigenous language. At Buffalo State in May 2006, she chaired the 13th Annual Stabilizing Indigenous Languages Symposium. Dr. Quigley served as the topical issue editor of the Rural Special Education Quarterly (Spring 2006), which featured several research-based articles on Native American students with special needs. In addition, she has been the principal writer for several grants, totally over $3 million in funded awards.

In 2003, Dr. Quigley received a Presidential appointment to the National Advisory Council on Indian Education, of which she serves as Chairperson. She also chairs the Seneca Nation Library Board of Trustees. Twice, the Native American Indian Education Association of NY has formally recognized her for her contributions to Indian Education. In May 2006, Dr. Quigley was awarded the prestigious State University of New York Chancellor's Award for Research and Scholarship; at the September 2006 Academic Convocation, she received the President's Award for Excellence in Equity and Campus Diversity.
