Kyle Bradstreet, ’02, ’04, regards Buffalo State alumnus and famed television writer/producer Tom Fontana, '73, a mentor. In a recent interview with Buffalo News TV critic Alan Pergament, Bradstreet discussed Fontana’s influence as he began to formulate an impressive career of his own.

“From employer to mentor to dear friend, Tom has taught me an immeasurable amount about writing and producing television—and about life,” Bradstreet told the News. “I regularly go to him with questions of all kinds. We joke—well, he thinks I’m joking—that I’m keeping records of our conversations in 'The Book of Fontana.' In the future, if I encounter a problem and can’t reach him, I’ll flip through the book and ask, ‘What would Tom do in this situation?’"

Bradstreet, who earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in theater and a master’s degree in multidisciplinary studies, also talked about his newest gig as a writer and supervising producer for the USA Network show Mr. Robot.
