Bruce Bryski, associate professor of communication, is a frequent guest on Buffalo’s Early News Show, broadcast on 930 AM and 107.7 FM radio. This morning, he was an in-studio guest discussing last night’s presidential debate.

Bryski, whose expertise includes public speaking and analysis of political communication, said that he felt that President Obama was over-prepared and therefore delivered an excessively cautious presentation. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, delivered a much stronger presentation. Bryski declined to predict the net effect of the debate, saying that the next 48 to 72 hours would affect how the debate is ultimately perceived by the American public. Bryski said that other important factors will be the spin crafted by the respective candidates’ organizations as well as post-debate polls.
