A remarkably well-executed goal by two members of the women’s soccer team has not only earned the Bengals its first-ever SUNYAC regular season title, but also gone viral.

Freshman Alexis Carillo (pictured) tossed a wild flip throw during the Bengals’ October 24 game against Oneonta. Senior criminal justice major Gabrianna Boldinski connected for a header, producing the game-winning goal.

Video of the stunning shot has been shared across the web and earned attention from local and national media.

“I practiced and practiced until I finally got it down,” Carillo told WGRZ-TV. “Everyone’s jaws just dropped.”

“I knew exactly where the ball was going to be, so I just had to make sure my run was on time,” said Boldinski confidentially.

The goal furthered the Bengals’ unbeaten streak to 13 games and earned the team the SUNYAC regular season title, a first for the college.

Buffalo State's women's soccer non-conference, regular-season finale was an away-game against St. John Fisher on Thursday, October 29. The team's 3-1 victory set a school record by extending its unbeaten streak to 14 games.  The team will host the SUNYAC seminfinals at Coyer Field on Wednesday, November 4, at 1:00 p.m.
