BUFFALO, NY—No. 4-ranked Elmira (14-4-3/8-1-2) netted four power-play goals and pulled away from host Buffalo State (7-14-1/5-8) for a 7-1 victory in an ECAC West game today at the Ice Arena.

Elmira led 2-0 after one period of play, before Kelsey Truran (Berkley, MI/Berkley) scored her first goal of the season for the Bengals to cut the deficit to 2-1 just 2:25 into the second frame. The Soaring Eagles would answer with three goals of their own in the second, however, and added two more in the final 20 minutes to put the game out of reach.

Elmira outshot the Bengals, 48-14, in the game. Meredith Larsen (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) made 41 saves for Buffalo State. Elmira was 4 for 13 on the power play, including two scoring goals with a 5-on-3 advantage. Buffalo State was 1 for 8 with the extra skater.

The same two teams will meet again in tomorrow’s regular season finale at 1 p.m.
