Five-time Grammy Award nominee Ottmar Liebert and his band Luna Negra will perform on May 10 at 8:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall.
As part of SUNY Buffalo State’s 2013-2014 Great Performers Series sponsored by M&T Bank, Liebert and his band will perform a mix of acoustic and electric guitar, gypsy accordion, electric bass, funky drum-boxing, and percussion.
Liebert has redefined flamenco music and has quickly become one of the most influential and creative guitarist to surface in years. Together with his touring and recording ensemble, he has defined a style that became known as “nouveau flamenco,” which mixes elements of flamenco with jazz to make seductively sensual music that captures the spirit of romance.
Tickets are $40 for the lower tier; $35 for the upper tier; $32 for seniors and Buffalo State faculty and staff. Students with ID may purchase tickets for $15 one hour prior to the performance. Purchase tickets by phone at (716) 878-3005 or online.
