Oneonta Knocks Off Women's Hoops, 75-65
BUFFALO, NYAnn Marie Faia (Yonkers/Maria Regina) scored 25 points to lead Oneonta (15-6/10-2) past Buffalo State (10-11/8-4), 75-65, tonight at the Sports Arena.
The score was knotted at 34-34 at halftime, but the Red Dragons used a 16-2 run midway through the second stanza to open up a 65-54 lead with 5:45 remaining. Oneonta hung on down the stretch to earn the 10-point win.
Allie Sullivan (Crompond/Walter Panas) added 12 points and nine boards for Oneonta, and Melissa Donohue (Niverville/Ichabod Crane) chipped in 10 points.
Jacey Brooks (Machias/Franklinville) led the Buffalo State with 20 points. Monique Hanks (Liverpool/Liverpool) added 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Desi Gibson (Rochester/Edison Tech) chipped in nine points.
Buffalo State will host SUNYIT tomorrow at 6 p.m. The Red Dragons will visit Fredonia at 2 p.m.
