TERRE HAUTE, Ind.—Junior Jenelle Orosz (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) became Buffalo State’s first-ever female track & field All-American today at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships at Rose-Hullman Institute of Technology. Orosz placed sixth in the high jump, clearing 1.66 meters. Four other Bengals were also in the field at the championship meet.

Willie Hordge (Buffalo/Forestbrook TX) raced to a berth in tomorrow’s finals in the 55-meter dash. Hordge won his heat and was second overall with a time of 6.39 seconds. The finals will be held at 3:15 p.m.

Mario Hicks (Corning/Corning West) qualified for the finals in the 55-meter hurdles, finishing second in his heat and third overall in 7.51 seconds. Hicks will vie for the national championship at 2:35 p.m.

Freshman Toya Edwards (Brooklyn/Clara Barton) just missed qualifying for the final and earning All-America status in the women’s 55-meter dash, finishing ninth in the prelims in 7.26 seconds, just .02 seconds behind the final qualifier.

Candace Aaron (Coram/Longwood) recorded no distance in the 20-lb. weight throw competition.
