Oswego Shoots Past Men's Basketball, 93-75

BUFFALO, NY—Oswego (11-3/5-1) shot 63.8-percent from the field and made 7 of 10 for long range to beat Buffalo State (9-5/3-2), 93-75, in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Sports Arena.

Buffalo State opened the game with a 12-2 run, before Oswego took over the opening stanza. The Lakers responded with a 13-0 run of their own, and closed out the stanza with a 49-37 lead. Oswego shot 61.3-percent from the field, including hitting 4 of 5 from long range in the opening 20 minutes. The Lakers stayed in control in the second half, never letting the Bengals cut the deficit to single digits.

Todd Franze (Westfield/Westfield) and Nicholas Perioli (Liverpool/Liverpool) led Oswego with 20 points each. Franze added seven assists. Ahmad Mims (Syracuse/CNS) added 15 points and eight boards, and Tom Downing (Staten Island/Curtis) had 14 points.

Dion Mozelle (Rego Park/Xaverian) led Buffalo State with 17 points and nine rebounds. Gregg Jones (Syracuse/Nottingham) and Dante Griggs (Bronx/Chester Academy) each scored 15 points, and Jobany Tirado (Syracuse/Corcoran) scored 11.

The Bengals will visit Brockport on Friday at 8 p.m. for a conference match-up.
