Buffalo State tailback James Perkins (Troy/Troy) was named the Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) Rookie of the Week after leading the Bengals to their third consecutive victory on Saturday.

Perkins rushed for 101 yards on 26 carries and scored two touchdowns, as Buffalo State upset visiting Thiel (PA), 18-12. Perkins scores both came in the first half, on runs of one and 10 yards. It was the second 100-yard game of the season for the freshman back.

Senior free safety Mike Potter (Allegany/Salamanca) was also honored on the ACFC Defensive Honor Roll. Potter made nine tackles and made a one-handed interception at the Bengals' own four-yard line.

Buffalo State is 4-5 and will close out the season this Saturday at Brockport.
