Buffalo State’s Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium will hold a special Mars viewing tonight when the Red Planet moves as close to Earth as it has been in 60,000 years.

Open to the public, the viewing will be held (weather permitting) from 10 p.m. until midnight on the east side of the Science Building off Iroquois Drive. Parking is in Lot S-1.

Two telescopes, including a large observatory-quality one, will be available, according to Art Gielow, director of the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium.
