Plattsburgh Overpowers Men's Hockey, 7-2

Buffalo State opened up a 2-0 lead, but Plattsburgh proved to be too much as the Cardinals skated to a 7-2 victory at Stafford Arena tonight.

Matt Davis got the Bengals on the board early with an assist from Brian Janke just 1:01 into the game. Mark Yoder extended the Bengals lead at 7:25 on a penalty shot. Plattsburgh tallied its first goal of the game at 9:02, and then evened the score late in the first period. From there, the Cardinals poured it on, scoring two in the second and three more in the final frame. Buffalo State was outshot in the contest by a 46-17 margin. Adam Horvath made 39 saves for the Bengals.

Buffalo State fell to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in SUNYAC play. The Bengals will visit Potsdam tonight for a 7:00 p.m. face-off.
