Plattsburgh Tops Women’s Basketball, 63-55
BUFFALO, NY-- Vanessa Arthurton’s (Troy/Troy) 24 points and eight rebounds lifted visiting Plattsburgh (5-6/3-1) over Buffalo State (5-7/1-2), 63-55 in a SUNYAC contest tonight at the Sports Arena.
Casey Clark (Athens/Coxsackie-Athens) added 16 points and seven board for the Cardinals in the win. Katie Simpson (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) chipped in nine points off the bench.
Toya Parks (Brooklyn/MLK) paced Buffalo State with 15 points, all in the second half. Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) added nine points and 13 rebounds, and Cat Ejimadu (Buffalo/Bennett) had 11 points.
Plattsburgh opened up a 29-19 lead at the intermission and extended its advantage to as many as 20 in the second half. Buffalo State kept itself in the game, going 21 of 29 from the free-throw line, but Plattsburgh held on down the stretch.
Buffalo State will visit Oneonta on Friday, and Plattsburgh will play host to SUNYIT.
