BUFFALO, NY--Defending club national champion Robert Morris (Ill.) scored eight unanswered goals to defeat host Buffalo State, 8-1, today in an exhibition game at the Ice Arena.

Buffalo State took a 1-0 lead when Kelsey Truran (Berkley, MI/Berkley) the lone goal of the opening period. Samantha Simpson (Fairbanks, AK/West Valley) and Linda Mleczko (San Carlos, CA/Carlmont) had the assists on the power play goal. The Eagles took over from there, scoring four in the second and four more in the third, including two power play goals and one while shorthanded.

Buffalo State will host Robert Morris again tomorrow at 1 p.m.
