Safety Advisory Update: Off-Campus Incidents Friday and Saturday

At 11:23 p.m., August 31, Buffalo Police were called regarding an incident at Grant Street and Potomac Avenue. The 911 call reported that three males, who are Buffalo State students, were approached by six male suspects. The report indicates the incident as a possible fight, where the students were kicked, punched, and robbed. Shots were fired after the robbery and fight. The police report indicates the students began to flee the scene and one student was shot in the arm. The student was treated at the Erie County Medical Center.

September 1, 2012
At approximately 3:50 a.m., September 1, Buffalo Police were called regarding the robbery of two female individuals (one a Buffalo State student). The two women were assaulted by four males at the intersection of Richmond Avenue and Dorchester Road. Both of their purses were taken. No weapons were used and no injuries were reported.

University Police reminds all members of the campus community to be aware of their surroundings at all times. It is always a good idea to have a companion with you, especially when commuting in the evenings and early mornings.
