Scheffold Grabs ECAC Weekly Honors
Already named the SUNYAC Pitcher of the Week, Bengals' pitcher Kristen Scheffold (Lancaster/Lancaster) was also selected as the ECAC Upstate Pitcher of the Week.
The junior pitcher posted a 5-0 record with a 0.38 ERA, as she helped the Bengals close out the regular season on a 10-game winning-streak. Scheffold tossed three shutouts during the week including conference wins over SUNYIT, Potsdam, and a 10-inning 1-0 victory over Geneseo. In 37 innings, she struck out 33 while walking only nine, and allowed just 18 hits. Scheffold was also selected as the SUNYAC pitcher of the week.
Scheffold and the Bengals will open the SUNYAC Championships tomorrow at noon against Oneonta at Cortland's Dragon Field.
