Scholarship Gala Raises Record $275,000
Buffalo State College’s 13th annual Foundation Scholarship Gala was celebrated on April 24 at the Connecticut Street Armory. A record $275,000 was raised, benefiting nearly 200 students in the All College Honors Program.
Hosted by Interim President Dennis K. Ponton and co-chaired by Howard A. Zemsky and Louis P. Ciminelli, the gala was the single most successful fundraiser in the history of the college.
Approximately 500 guests were in attendance, including incoming President Aaron Podolefsky and his wife, Ronnie, who flew into Buffalo to attend the fundraiser and meet local dignitaries, including Mayor Byron W. Brown and Erie County Executive Chris Collins.
